We believe that every girl deserves to know her inherent worth, value, and potential.
It’s normal to feel uncomfortable navigating school, relationships, and everything else in middle school. And, it is also possible for girls to believe in themselves and step into new situations with more confidence (even if they feel a little shaky inside).
In this 6-week program, participants will learn
🌿 about themselves; what they are about, who matters to them, and what they stand for.
🌿 what happens in their brain when they experience anxiety, and why it makes sense that they feel so overwhelmed.
🌿 tools that will help them when they're stuck in stressful situations. The best part about these strategies is that they can be done quietly, nobody else will ever know!
🌿 to develop self-awareness and self-esteem through reflective activities, mindfulness, and sometimes, movement explorations.
Adolescents feel so alone in this tough stuff. Being together in group gives participants a new perspective, that every girl their age is navigating similar experiences.
There will be opportunities to share with peers in this program. However, participants choose if and when they share with the group.
Threads of lived experience, recent research (e.g., Marquez et al., 2023), evidence-based practice, and traditional wisdom from yoga and mindfulness teachings weave together to shape the content of this program.
“I can’t think of a better representation of beauty than someone who is unafraid to be herself.”
- Emma Stone
